Fiançailles de Baptiste et Rachel / Engagement of Baptiste and Rachel

Nous avons fêté hier les fiançailles de Baptiste et Rachel. Dans la culture africaine, il s'agit d'un mariage coutumier où les familles font alliance et bénissent les fiancés. La fête d'hier avait donc une couleur très africaine, avec l'offrande d'une pré-dot, un délicieux repas africain, de la danse, des promesses et des bénédictions. Notre grande joie est que Joële a pu venir pendant deux heures et suivre la partie officielle du début. Le miracle continue!

Yesterday we celebrated the engagement of Baptiste and Rachel. In African culture, this is a customary wedding where families make a covenant and bless the engaged couple. Yesterday's celebration therefore had a very African flavour, with the offering of a pre-dot, a delicious African meal, dancing, promises and blessings. Our great joy was that Joële was able to come for two hours and follow the official part from the beginning. The miracle continues!
