La célébration des 50 ans de King's Kids International a bien démarré hier soir. Une septantaine de personnes sont présentes, dont beaucoup de participants des tout-débuts. On entend des témoignages des débuts très inspirants. Aujourd'hui, la matinée a lieu à King's Mansion, une maison historique de JEM près du cimetière où Loren Cunningham est enterré. Darlene était présente.

The celebration of King's Kids International's 50th anniversary got off to a great start last night. About seventy people are in attendance, including many who were there from the very beginning. We listen to some inspiring testimonies from the beginning. This morning’s event is taking place at King’s Mansion, a historic YWAM house near the cemetery where Loren Cunningham is buried. Darlene was with us.

Joële est bien arrivée à Hawaii pour préparer la célébration des 50 ans de King's Kids International là où tout a commencé en été 1976 avec Dale et Carol Kauffman. Elle fait partie de l'équipe programme et prépare les jours de fête tant au niveau contenu qu'infrastructure. Heureusement, elle n'est pas seule, ils sont une super équipe avec les Marsh, Jessica, Yohann, Noam et d'autres. Il y aura en tout 16 célébrations des 50 ans autour du monde, et Joële participera à 7 d'entre elles (Guy à 3).

Joële has arrived safely in Hawaii to help organize the 50th-anniversary celebration of King’s Kids International—the place where it all began in the summer of 1976 with Dale and Carol Kauffman. She is part of the program team and is helping to plan the festivities, both in terms of content and logistics. Fortunately, she’s not alone; they make a great team with the Marsh family, Jessica, Yohann, Noam, and others. There will be a total of 16 50th-anniversary celebrations around the world, and Joële will participate in 7 of them (Guy in 3).

Guy a eu un excellent appel zoom avec le comité de l'alliance évangélique francophone de Belgique pour préparer une intervention qu'il aura pour les pasteurs belges francophones le 22 septembre. Une super équipe, très ouverte, avec des questions très pertinentes. On se réjouit déjà de septembre!

Guy had an excellent Zoom call with the committee of the Francophone Evangelical Alliance of Belgium to prepare for a presentation he will give to French-speaking Belgian pastors on September 22. A great team, very open-minded, with very relevant questions. We’re already looking forward to September! 

Souper annuel des pasteurs et responsables d'Yverdon / Yearly dinner for Yverdon's pastors and leaders

Nous avons eu cette semaine notre traditionnel repas d'été des pasteurs et responsables spirituels de la ville d'Yverdon membres de l'ACEY (Action Commune d'Evangélisation d'Yverdon). Un super temps convivial à l'ombre et de belles amitiés.

This week we held our traditional summer meal for pastors and spiritual leaders from the city of Yverdon who are members of ACEY (Action Commune d'Evangélisation d'Yverdon). It was a wonderful, friendly time spent in the shade, filled with beautiful friendships.

Christopher a reçu ce matin son diplôme d'ASSC (Assistant en Soins de Santé Communautaire) après 3 ans d'apprentissage. Bravo! Nous sommes fiers de lui!

Christopher received his Community Health Care Assistant (ASSC) diploma this morning after three years of training. Congratulations! We're proud of him!

Christopher fête ses 24 ans aujourd'hui. Nous l'avons fêté en famille hier, mais aujourd'hui son grand frère l'a invité manger un Holy Cow! (Chaîne de hamburgers en Suisse)

Christopher is celebrating his 24th birthday today. We celebrated with the family yesterday, but today his older brother invited him to eat at Holy Cow! (a hamburger chain in Switzerland)

Célébration des réussites familiales / Celebration of family successes

Aujourd'hui, nous avons mangé au restaurant à Pontarlier, en France voisine, pour fêter les succès et réussites des divers membres de la famille: Christopher a réussi son apprentissage d'ASSC, Rachel a terminé avec succès ses études de médecine, Noam a son permis de scooter, Baptiste a passé sa 2ème année de Start'Up Ministries... Nous aimons célébrer le plus possible les bons moments, il y en a bien assez de difficiles...

Today, we had lunch at a restaurant in Pontarlier, in neighboring France, to celebrate the successes and achievements of various family members: Christopher completed his ASSC apprenticeship, Rachel successfully finished her medical studies, Noam got his scooter license, and Baptiste completed his second year at Start'Up Ministries... We like to celebrate the good times as much as possible—there are more than enough difficult ones...

Baptiste a fêté aujourd'hui ses 27 ans avec ses amis, avec le traditionnel tournoi de football suivi d'une pizza party. C'est chaque fois un moment fort d'amitié, avec souvent les mêmes amis qui reviennent d'année en année, avec une super ambiance. La vraie date sera le 23 juillet. 

Baptiste celebrated his 27th birthday today with his friends, with the traditional soccer tournament followed by a pizza party. It’s always a highlight of friendship, with the same friends often coming back year after year, and a great atmosphere. The real date will be July 23d.

Joële spoke last night at the weekly YWAM Lausanne community gathering on the topic of the fear of the Lord. It was a great time!

40 ans d'amitié / 40 years of friendship

Quelle joie d'aller manger à la Thiole avec notre amie Sylvia Brocard aujourd'hui à midi. Son mari Henri n'a pas pu venir, mais c'était l'occasion de fêter 40 ans d'amitiés qui datent de notre jeunesse... Camps à la Ligue, Interjeunes, FJ, école... Merci Sylvia pour ton invitation, c'était un plaisir!

What a joy it was to have lunch at La Thiole with our friend Sylvia Brocard today. Her husband Henri couldn’t make it, but it was a chance to celebrate 40 years of friendship that goes back to our youth… Camps at La Ligue, Interyouth, KKI, school… Thank you, Sylvia, for the invitation—it was a pleasure! 

Joële à Loèche-les-Bains / Joële in Leukerbad

Joële passe le week-end de Pentecôte à Loèche-les-Bains dans un appartement qu'on lui a prêté avec sa maman, Noam, Lucy-Lou et William. Un bon moment de repos et de récupération bienfaisant! 

Joële is spending the Pentecost weekend in Leukerbad in an apartment that was lent to her, along with her mom, Noam, Lucy-Lou, and William. A nice, relaxing break—just what she needed!

Guy en Suède (2) / Guy in Sweden (2)

Aujourd'hui, c'est le dernier jour de notre école FTJ modulaire commencée il y a 14 mois, demain, nous ferons le débriefing du staff et Guy rentre dimanche en Suisse. Il a enseigné et conduit la louange cette semaine, ainsi que le débriefing des étudiants ce matin. Les fruits sont excellents et des amitiés ont été tissées pour les années à venir. Beaucoup ont reçu des révélations et des guérisons pendant cette école.

Today is the last day of our PCYFM modular school, which began 14 months ago. Tomorrow, we’ll hold the staff debriefing, and Guy returns to Switzerland on Sunday. He taught and led worship this week, as well as the student debriefing this morning. The results have been excellent, and friendships have been formed that will last for years to come. Many have received revelations and healings during this school.

Guy est en Suède depuis aujourd'hui pour la dernière semaine de notre école FTJ modulaire européenne dont il est l'un des encadrants. Les étudiants viennent de terminer un camp NIKO et ils sont enthousiastes. Cette semaine, quelques enseignements divers, mais aussi un bilan, débriefing et réflexions pour la suite.

Guy arrived in Sweden today for the final week of our European modular PCYFM school, where he serves as one of the staffs. The students have just finished a NIKO camp and are full of enthusiasm. This week will feature a variety of lessons, as well as a review, debriefing, and discussions about what comes next.

Joële est bien rentrée du Kenya. Nous avons fait un arrêt aux urgences pour que son talon infecté soit contrôlé, elle est bien suivie!

Joële has returned safely from Kenya. We stopped by the emergency room to have her infected heel checked out; she’s in good hands!

La rencontre des anciens de JEM Afrique se passe bien. Joële a plein de contacts. Elle a aussi pu se rendre à l'ambassade pour y recevoir son nouveau passeport temporaire. Les douleurs liées à l'agression sont encore bien présentes, et sa plaie au talon a tendance à s'infecter. Merci de prier pour un retour paisible dans la nuit de vendredi à samedi.

The YWAM Africa eldership gathering is going well. Joële has made plenty of contacts. She was also able to go to the embassy to pick up her new temporary passport. The pain from the attack is still very much present, and the wound on her heel is starting to get infected. Please pray for a safe return overnight from Friday to Saturday.

Pendant que Guy enseignait à Interjeunes Cossonay (vendredi soir) et à l'église évangélique de Lonay (dimanche matin), Joële a entamé sa dernière semaine au Kenya. Après 5 heures de train, elle est arrivée sur la base de JEM d'Athi River, à 1h30 de Nairobi, dans la brousse. En se promenant dans la nature autour de la base, elle a rencontré de girafes, des zèbres, des antilopes, des autruches... Cela a fait beaucoup de bien à son âme. Après 2 jours de rencontres avec nos responsables FJ de la région, elle entame ce soir la rencontre des anciens de JEM Afrique. Mardi, elle fera un aller-retour jusqu'à l'ambassade de Suisse pour faire faire son passeport d'urgence pour son voyage retour.

While Guy was teaching at Interjeunes Cossonay (Friday evening) and at the Evangelical Church in Lonay (Sunday morning), Joële began her final week in Kenya. After a 5-hour train ride, she arrived at the YWAM base in Athi River, 1.5 hours from Nairobi, out in the bush. While walking through the wilderness around the base, she encountered giraffes, zebras, antelopes, ostriches... It was truly refreshing for her soul. After two days of meetings with our FJ leaders in the region, she is beginning a meeting with JEM Africa alumni this evening. On Tuesday, she will make a round trip to the Swiss Embassy to have an emergency passport issued for her return journey.

Repas de soutien pour la tournée FJ au Costa Rica / Fundraising dinner for the Costa Rica KKI Outreach

Ce soir, c'était le repas de soutien pour la tournée FJ au Costa Rica, qui compte une trentaine de participants. Guy va finalement s'y joindre pour soutenir Noémie qui dirige le projet. Une bonne soirée présidée par les ados de l'équipe avec un bon repas du pays et une 80aine de personnes.

Tonight was the fundraising dinner for the KKI outreach in Costa Rica, which has about thirty participants. Guy will be joining us after all to support Noémie, who is leading the project. It was a great evening organized by the teens on the team, featuring a delicious local meal and attended by about 80 people. 

Joële au Kenya (6) / Joële in Kenya (6)

Cette semaine, Joële forme le staff et le leaders d'un ministère similaire à JEM appelé Global Youth Ministry). Elle a aussi pu parler à des garçons qui sortent de la rue. Ce sont des moments très forts et profonds. Elle est encore 3 jours à Mombasa avant de partir pour JEM Athi River, plus près de Nairobi. Ses hématomes sur le corps deviennent jaunes, et les douleurs sur tout le corps sont encore présentes. Elle a rendez-vous à l'ambassade de Suisse à Nairobi le 12 pour faire un passeport d'urgence temporaire pour son retour en Suisse, puis il faudra faire un nouveau "vrai" passeport à Lausanne. Guy a déjà reçu ses nouvelles cartes de crédit et son nouveau permis de conduire.

This week, Joële is training the staff and leaders of a ministry similar to JEM called Global Youth Ministry. She was also able to talk to boys coming out of the street. These are very powerful and meaningful moments. She will remain in Mombasa for three more days before heading to JEM Athi River, closer to Nairobi. The bruises on her body are turning yellow, and she is still experiencing pain all over her body. She has an appointment at the Swiss Embassy in Nairobi on the 12th to get a temporary emergency passport for her return to Switzerland; then she will need to get a new “real” passport in Lausanne. Guy has already received his new credit cards and his new driver’s license.
