Joële a reçu son diplôme de master hier soir avec plus d'une soixantaine de candidats du monde entier, ainsi que d'autres qui recevaient un bachelor ou un associate. C'était à ce jour la plus grande cérémonie de remise de diplôme de l'Université des Nations avec plus de 100 diplômés, tous des leaders reconnus ou en croissance de JEM. Malheureusement, plusieurs autres n'ont pas pu se joindre à nous pour des raisons de visa (7 Africains dans notre cohorte). Nous avons vécu un moment plein de joie avec un gros sentiment d'accomplissement. Aujourd'hui, brunch de conclusion et bilan avec les diplômés ce matin, débriefing puis souper chez David Hamilton avec les facilitateurs, puis nous partons avec le vol de 23h pour arriver en Suisse dimanche matin.

Joële received her master's degree last night along with more than sixty candidates from around the world, as well as others who received bachelor's or associate degrees. It was the largest graduation ceremony to date at the University of the Nations, with more than 100 graduates, all of whom are recognized or emerging leaders in YWAM. Unfortunately, several others were unable to join us due to visa issues (7 Africans in our cohort). We experienced a moment of great joy and a strong sense of accomplishment. Today, we had a closing brunch and review with the graduates this morning, followed by a debriefing and dinner at David Hamilton's house with the facilitators. Then we left on the 11 p.m. flight to arrive in Switzerland on Sunday morning.

Notre semaine d'examens oraux du master avance bien, déjà 2 jours d'écoutes de nos étudiants. Joële a passé cet après-midi et s'est super bien débrouillée, plein de gens ont été touchés par son thème: le leadership intergénérationnel. Hier soir, nous avons assisté à la première mondiale du film GO-Movie Africa, réalisé par David Cunningham, le fils de Loren, et qui raconte un bout de l'histoire de Paul et Rachel Dangtoumda au Nigéria, là où Joële collabore dans l'équipe de leadership. Nous avons finalement 16 étudiants qui obtiennent leur master dans notre cohorte Afrique-Europe-Moyen-Orient. Malheureusement, 7 n'ont pas obtenu leur visa pour être avec nous pour cette dernière semaine.

Our week of oral exams for the master's degree is going well, with two days of listening to our students already behind us. Joële took her exam this afternoon and did really well. Many people were moved by her topic: intergenerational leadership. Last night, we attended the world premiere of the film GO-Movie Africa, directed by David Cunningham, Loren's son, which tells part of the story of Paul and Rachel Dangtoumda in Nigeria, where Joële works as part of the leadership team. We finally have 16 students obtaining their master's degrees in our Africa-Europe-Middle East cohort. Unfortunately, seven of them did not obtain their visas to be with us for this final week.

La correction des thèses de nos candidats du master s'est bien terminée. En 10 jours, Guy a pu en corriger et en noter 9. ça prend du temps! Et samedi soir, Joële est bien arrivée pour la semaine de remise de diplômes et d'examen oral. Nous avons profité du dimanche pour aller nager dans l'océan - et Joële a pu re-nager pour la première fois depuis l'accident, merci Seigneur. Sur la photo, c'est elle avec le bonnet bleu au fond.

The correction of our master's candidates' theses has been successfully completed. In 10 days, Guy was able to correct and grade 9 of them. It takes time! And on Saturday evening, Joële arrived for the week of graduation and oral exams. We took advantage of Sunday to go swimming in the ocean—and Joële was able to swim again for the first time since the accident, thank God. Après quelques jours intensifs de correction, le week-end était libre. Guy en a profité pour essayer d'aller au sommet du Mauna Kea (plus de 4200m), mais une nouvelle loi a été passée interdisant l'accès aux véhicules non 4x4. Ils ont marché un peu à la hauteur du visitor's center. Puis ils sont allés au Hilton voir les dauphins et manger une morse, et le soir, dessert et partage chez David Hamilton. Dimanche, il est allé à deux endroits qu'il aime beaucoup avec masque et tuba pour admirer les poissons (un de ses moments de louange préférés) et les tortues. Dès lundi, c'est la dernière ligne droite pour les corrections, et Joële va arriver samedi prochain pour la remise de diplômes et l'examen oral.

After a few intense days of grading, the weekend was free. Guy took the opportunity to try to go to the summit of Mauna Kea (over 4,200 meters), but a new law had been passed prohibiting access to non-4x4 vehicles. They walked a little way up to the visitor's center. Then they went to the Hilton to see the dolphins and eat lunch, and in the night, sharing and dessert at David Hamilton's. On Sunday, he went to two places he really likes with his mask and snorkel to admire the fish (one of his favorite moments of praise) and the turtles. Starting Monday, it's the final stretch for grading, and Joële will arrive next Saturday for the graduation ceremony and oral exam.
