Parcs nationaux US (13) - Alcatraz / US National Parks (13) - Alcatraz

Aujourd'hui, nous avons visité la prison d'Alcatraz, sur une île à 2.5 km de San Francisco. Cette prison est bien connue par les différents films qui s'y déroulent ("L'évadé d'Alcatraz" avec Clint Eastwood ou "The Rock" avec Nicholas Cage et Sean Connery, par exemple). C'était impressionnant de se retrouver sur ces lieux où des milliers d'hommes ont été détenus dans ce qui était à l'époque la plus grande prison du monde. Des hommes comme Al Capone et d'autres y ont séjourné. Nous avons ensuite mangé au In-N-Out, le fast food aux versets bibliques (voir les photos)! Demain, debout à 4h30 et départ pour New York, où nous avons trouvé un hôtel de remplacement... Et dans une semaine, retour en Suisse!

Today we visited Alcatraz èrison, on an island 2.5 km from San Francisco. This prison is well known for the different movies happening there (like "The Rock" with Nicholas Cage and Sean Connery, or "Alcatraz", with Clint Eastwood). It was amazing to find ourselves in this place where thousands of men were convicts in what was at the time the largest prison in the world. People like Al Capone and others were prisoners here. Then we went to eat in In-N-Out, the bible verse fast food (see the pictures)! Tomorrow, wake up at 4h30 am and depature for New York, where we found a replacement hostel... And in one week, back to Switzerland!
