Nous avons passé deux nuits à Las Vegas et nous sommes
plongés dans l’univers de cette ville de démesure. Surnommée la « capitale
mondiale du divertissement », ou « la ville du péché », elle est
caractérisée par la démesure de ses hôtels-casinos. Nous en avons visité quelques-uns.
Il y en a sur toutes sortes de thèmes : Paris (il y a même la tour Eiffel
en version miniature, l’arc de triomphe, l’opéra…), New York (avec Empire
State Building, Statue de la Liberté et des montagnes russes qui font le tour
de l’hôtel), l’Egypte (un casino en forme de pyramide noire, avec un sphinx à
l’entrée, une obélisque…), la Rome antique (avec Colisée, statues…), le cirque
(avec des spectacles non-stop), le château fort (avec tours et donjons), Venise
(avec canaux et gondoliers au milieux de rues de magasins) et bien
d’autres… Cet hôtel (Venise) est
d’ailleurs le plus grand du monde avec 7000 chambres et suites ! Le rez de
chaussée est à peu près similaire partout, avec machines à sous et jeux de
casino. Nous n’avons pas joué de notre côté (interdit aux moins de 21 ans). Par
contre, nous avons apprécié les chorégraphies de jets d’eau devant l’hôtel
Belaggio (celui d’Ocean 11), avec même une projection de spectacle sur un mur
d’eau créé par les jets. Impressionnant ! Hier soir, Guy a emmené
Christopher pour son troisième événement d’entrée dans l’adolescence, un
spectacle de prestidigitation de Matt Franco, qui a bien fait rêver notre petit
gars ! Mais on est contents de partir un peu plus dans la nature.
Aujourd’hui, les parcs nationaux commencent vraiment avec celui de Zion au
programme.
We spent 2 nights in Las Vegas and we dove in the universe
of this town of excesses. Nicknamed
« world capital of entertainment » or « sin city », it is
caracterized by the gigantism of its casino-hotels. We visited some of them. Y
can find them declined on a whole variety of themes : Paris (with even a
smaller version of the Eiffel tower, the trumphal arch, the opera….), New York
(with the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building and a roller coaster aeound the hotel), Egypt (a casino with a
black pyramidal shape, with a sphinx and an obelisque…), Antic Rome (with the
Coliseum, temples, statues…), circus (with non stop shows), middle age castle
(with towers and dunjeons), Venezia (with canals and gondoliers surrounded with
streets of shops) and many others… By the way, this hotel (Venezia) is the
biggest in the world, with more than 7000 rooms and suites. The first floor is
about the same everywhere, with slot machines
and casino games. We didn’t play ourselves (forbidden under 21 years old). But
we enjoyed the fountain choreographies in front of the Belaggio hotel (the one
of Ocean 11), with even a show projection on a water wall created by the
fountains. Impressive ! Yesterday night, Guy brought Christopher to a
third event for his teenage years entry, a magic show with Matt Franco, former
winner of America’s got talent, that made him dream ! But we are quite
happy to leave and be more in the wilderness. Today, we really start the
national parks with Zion !
