Townsville, 3ème jour / Townsville, 3d day

A nouveau une journée stimulante. Le thème de la matinée était: Eradiquer la pauvreté biblique (www.endbiblepovertynow.com). David Hamilton nous a conduit dans un temps de découverte de tout ce que Jem fait à ce niveau en collaboration avec d’autres missions dans les domaines suivants:

1.   Traduction: Nous travaillons à ce que chacune des 7000 langues sur terre ait une traduction qui ait démarré d’ici 2020 et une traduction achevée d’ici 2033.

2.   Production: Nous avons eu la présentation de plein de projets de Bibles sur lesquels des Jémiens ont travaillé, d’une version moderne pour la Thaïlande (la seule version disponible à ce jour était dans le langage royal que la majorité de la population ne peut pas comprendre). Ou la future application SourceView Bible qui sortira l’année prochaine et qui permettra d’étudier la Bible de plein de nouvelles manières. Il s’agira de la première version complètement numérique.

3.   Distribution: Plein de projets de distribution en cours, en Norvège, au Costa Rica… Le but? Une Bible dans chaque foyer de la terre dans la décennie à venir!

4.   Education: Présentation de pleins de projets, dont la SBS online qui existe aussi en français grâce à Sandrine Freymond (http://onlinesbs.org/fr/esbs/).

5.   Engagement : Plein d’activités de motivation et d’entraînement à lire, mémoriser, méditer la Parole, comme les écoles Word at Heart. Guy a aussi brièvement pu présenter ce que les FJ font à ce niveau.

Bref, une matinée super inspirante ! Après un après-midi riche en relations, contacts et discussions stratégiques pour la suite, la soirée était consacrée à fêter les 80 ans de Loren Cunningham. Une célébration riche, où notre équipe a pu danser, où Christopher a pu offrir un cadeau à Loren (voir vidéos). Et un super gâteau à la fin en forme de Bible géante avec le slogan : « Eradicating Bible Poverty Now » et le verset « L’homme ne vivra pas de pain seulement, mais de toute parole qui sortira de la bouche de Dieu. »

Again a very stimulating day. This morning’s theme was: Eradicating Bible Poverty (www.endbiblepovertynow.com). David Hamilton led us in a time of discovery of what YWAM is doing in this area in cooperation with other missions in the following aspects:

1.   Translation: We work for each of the 7000 of the World’s languages has a translation that starts by 2020 and a completed translation by 2033.

2.   Production: We were introduced to many projects of Bible on which YWAMers have worked, like a modern version of the Thai Bible (the only version at this point is in royal language that most Thai can’t understand). Or the future SourceView Bible app that will be released next year that will allow to study the Bible in a brand new way. It will be the first completely digital version.

3.   Distribution: Many distribution projects are in process, in Norway, in Costa Rica… The goal? One Bible in each household of the earth in the coming decade!

4.   Education: Presentation of many projects, like the online SBS that also exists in French, thanks to Sandrine Freymond (http://onlinesbs.org/).

5.   Engagement: Many motivational activities to read, memorize, meditate... the Word, like the Word at Heart schools. Guy was also able to share a bit about what KKI is doing in this area.

In short, a very inspiring morning! After an afternoon rich in relationships, contacts and strategic discussions for our next steps, the night was dedicated to Loren Cunningham 80^th birthday. A rich celebration, where our team offered a dance, and Christopher a special gift to Loren (see the video). And a incredible birthday cake shaped like a giant Bible with the slogan: “Eradicating Bible poverty” and the scripture “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word coming out of the mouth of God.”
