VERSION FRANCAISE

Ça y est, la date de l’opération est fixée. Ce sera mardi matin (heure Suisse) à 07h. L’opération va durer 5h où ils vont scier le thorax de Guy pour accéder à son cœur ; il vont lui retirer deux artères du thorax et prendre une veine dans la jambe pour les greffer sur son cœur. Il devrait se réveiller dans la journée et on y verra plus clair sur les conséquences pour la suite.

Les médecins sont optimistes (« Vous êtes jeunes et en bonne santé ») et pensent que la convalescence pourrait être rapide, mais il ne pourra rien porter pendant trois mois (le temps que ses os du thorax se ressoudent).

Pour l’instant, les journées sont longues. Il termine sses devoirs de Master. Mais il est reconnaissant d’être au CHUV, un hôpital mondialement reconnu pour ses compétences dans ce type d’opération.

Joële est fatiguée et beaucoup de choses lui retombent dessus, en plus des visites à l’hôpital qui se rajoutent au programme…

Il semble que notre assurance va couvrir les frais à Hawaii, mais nous avons besoin des factures détaillées, et pour le moment ça traîne un peu. Merci Seigneur pour ce développement.

Il y a juste l’hôtel pour lequel personne ne veut payer (cela coûte pourtant 20 fois moins cher que si Guy était resté à l’hôpital…), mais bon cela ne représente pas grand chose par rapport au reste. Nous sommes soulagés.

Merci de prier pour que :

-       L’opération se passe bien et que le Seigneur conduise les médecins.

-       Il n’y ait pas de complication (hémorragie interne, crise cardiaque…) et une bonne récupération/réadaptation.

-       Les assurances prennent tout en charge et que les factures (qui permettent le remboursement) arrivent vite, pour qu’on puisse clore ce chapitre.

-       Joële ait de bonnes nuits de repos, des espaces pour elle et de l’aide pratique.

-       Le Seigneur nous montre comment organiser la suite et notre départ dans le Pacifique – ni dans la précipitation, ni dans la crainte, mais sur une conviction claire du Seigneur au niveau forme et timing.

ENGLISH VERSION

OK, the date for the surgery is set. It will be on Tuesday at 07:00am, Swiss time. The surgery will last for 5 hours and they will saw Guy’s thorax to access his heart ; they will remove two arteries from his chest and on vein from his leg to transplant them on his heart. He should wake up in the afternoon, and we will see clearer the consequences for the next steps.

The doctors are optimistics (« You are young and in a good health ») and think that convalescence could be quite quick, but he won’t be able to carry anything for the next three months (to give time for his chestbones to heal and knit together again).

At the moment, the days are long. He finishes his homework for his Master. But he is grateful to be in this hospital that is world-famous for his competencies in this type of bypass surgery.

Joële is tired, and many things fall back on her shoulders, besides the hospital visits adding to the normal program…

It seems our insurance will cover the costs in Hawaii, but we ned the detailed invoices, and this seems to take longer than normal. Thank you Lord for this development.

Jut for the hotel nobody wants to pay (even if the costs are 20 times cheaper than if Guy had stayed in the hospital…) ; however, this is not much compared to the rest. We are relieved.

Thank you for praying for :

-       The surgery to happen well and the Lord to lead the doctors.

-       That there is no complication (intern hemorragia, heart attack…) and a good recovery.

-       That the insurances will cover everything and the invoices will come quickly from Hawaii so we can close this chapter.

-       For Joële to have good nights, some times of rest and some practical help.

-       That the Lord will show us how to organize the next steps and our departure in the Pacific – neither in haste, nor in fear, but on a clear conviction from the Lord about timing and ways.
