Etape de transition aujourd'hui sur la route de Page et Antelope Canyon. Nous nous sommes arrêtés à Kanab, surnommée "Little Hollywood" en raison des nombreux westerns tournés ici dans les années 20 - 70, avec des John Wayne, Clint Eastwood... On a visité un reste de décors mal entretenus, mais qui nous mettent dans l'ambiance. Puis repas "all you can eat" pour 4.69 US$/personne! Ah, et pour info, l'essence est à 2.30 US$/gallon (soit 3.8l), ce qui fait env. 0.60 CHF/l... Pas étonnant que les transports publics soient peu développés! L'après-midi, plusieurs groupes avec plusieurs marches, repos... Guy et les deux plus jeunes sont allés voir des empreintes de dinosaures, Joële a choisi une marche plus longue et escarpée... Le soir, les enfants sont allés au vieux cinéma de Kanab. Les lundis soirs, c'est projection de vieux western (ce soir, "The man who killed Liberty Valance") avec une équipe de passionnés de plus de 70 ans! Mémorable. Seule Noémie a payé 2 US$, et popcorns et boissons pour 3 fois rien. Les personnes âgées étaient ravies d'avoir des jeunes!

Transition day today on the road to Page and Antelope Canyon. We stopped in kanab, nicknamed "Little Hollywood" for the many westerns fimled here in the years 1920-1970, with John Wayne, Clint Eastwood... We visited a museum with some movie sets to have the atmosphere. Then an "all you can eat" lunch for 4.69 US$/person! Ah, for your information, gas is 2.30 US$/gallon (3.8l), that's about 0.60 CHF/l... No wonder public transportations are not so developped here! During the afternoon, several groups with different levels of hikes, or home school and rest... Guy and the youngest ones went to see some dinosaur prints, Joële went for the longer and steeper hike... On the evening, the kids went to Kanab's old movie theater. Monday nights, this is the old western night (tonight "The man who killed Liberty Valance") with a team of passionate old-timers! Memorable. Noémie was the only one to pay, 2 US$, and popcorns and drinks were almost free. The old folks were so happy to have some young people!
