Nous sommes arrivés à Matamata, à 2h au sud d’Auckland, où
nous allons pouruivre nos vacances pendant deux semaines. Matamata, c’est le
pays des Hobbits – le village du tournage se trouve à 10mn de la ville, on vous
en parlera plus tard.
Nous sommes logés dans un joli petit bungalow sur la base,
avec trois chambres à coucher, un salon, une cuisine… le grand luxe,
quoi ! ça nous fait un de ces biens. À 5mn de la base se trouve un piscine
avec des sources d’eau chaude. On peut se baigner à 27°C, 37 °C ou même 39 °C.
On a pu avoir un abonnement famille pour deux semaine pour à peine 50 NZ$ (env.
32 CHF). Autant dire qu’on va abuser…
Aujourd’hui, nous sommes allés marcher jusqu’à la magnifique
cascade de Wairere Falls. La nature est magnifique, avec des plantes
inhabituelles, dont la fougère-arbre (je ne connais pas son vrai nom) qui est
le symbole du pays.
We arrived at Matamata, 2 hours south of Auckland, where we
will continue our holiday for the next two weeks. Matamata is the land of Hobbits – the village where the

We live in a nice little bungalow on the YWAM base, with
three bedrooms, one living room, on kitchen… a big luxury for us after these
last five months ! Just this is ministering love and relaxation to us. 5mn
from the base, we have a swimming pool with hot springs. We can bath in 27°C,
37°C or even 39°C water. We were able to obtain a family pass for two weeks for
50 NZ$ (ab. 32 US$). We will certainly overuse it…
Today, we went walking up to the beautiful Wairere Falls.
Nature is spectacular, with unusual plants, like the fern-tree (I don’t know
the official name), symbol of the nation.
