We arrived yesterday in Auckland, New Zealand. Watchword: holiday! This will be welcome, and the Lord knows we need it - the Family Camp planned end of December has just been cancelled as they had no participants. So our next official activities will be net January on the South Island (a family week-end and the pioneering of a NIKO camp...). The YWAM base here in Auckland is actually two bases, one being totally dedicated to King's Kids. The base is huge, there are many rooms, and Guy and Joele finally have their own bedroom just for themselves after several months - it is much appreciated. The kids feel well here, there is a pool and table football. Baptiste and Noémie will have their holidays on their own for a few days and we will visit the city and region and walk with the three younger ones. The rest of the team is scattered, David is in the USA for some weeks, Marie and Eliane are here, the Cuendet family is on holiday on the South Island and the Devogele family just arrived this afternoon from South Africa. We went to walk at "One Tree Hill", a hill (actually a former volcano) in the heart of Auckland. We have ben able to admire the view on the city as well as the beauty of the nature, nature a bit crazy in this country.
The only shock? The whaether is cold, 17 °C - we are not used to it anymore ;-) and it's windy. However the good news is that it's strawberry season. This will be the first time we will experience it twice during the same year!
