C'est la saison des cerises. Joële aime les cueillir et les déguster toutes fraîches, surtout montée sur le télescopique de son beau-papa.
It's cherry season. Joële loves picking them and eating them fresh, especially when she's riding on her stepfather's telescopic handler.

Aujourd'hui, c'était la fête. Noam s'est fait baptiser dans son église à Lonay, toute la famille est venue pour l'encourager.
Today was a celebration. Noam was baptized in his church in Lonay, and the whole family came to cheer him on.
Avant-dernier jour de notre 5ème sessions intensive du Master. Nous avons un excellent orateur les après-midis, par zoom, le Dr. Jim Wilder dont nous avons étudié deux livres pendant cette dernièr année et demie. Les étudiants ont aussi bien du temps pour avancer dans leur thèse et la possibilité d'être coachés, de poser des questions... Nous terminons jeudi soir par une agape finale, vendredi débriefing du staff et en soirée départ pour la Suisse.
Penultimate day of our fifth intensive Master's session. We have an excellent speaker in the afternoons, via Zoom, Dr. Jim Wilder, whose two books we have studied over the past year and a half. Students also have plenty of time to make progress on their theses and the opportunity to receive coaching and ask questions. We will conclude on Thursday evening with a final love feast, followed by a staff debriefing on Friday and departure for Switzerland in the evening.
Hier, journée de pause qui nous a fait du bien à tous. Samedi, nous avons visité la propriété jusqu'à la rivière en longeant le mur construit autour. Ces derniers mois, des entrepreneurs corrompus ont essayé de saisir le terrain, détruisant plusieurs portions du mur, abattant des arbres et commençant à construire des maisons et à les vendre... Il y a eu des affrontements, des tirs, des bulldozers brûlés, plus de 45'000 poissons volés et vendus dans la pisciculture... Récemment, un juge a pris parti pour JEM, et le terrain a été sécurisé. Mais pas mal de portions du mur sont encore à reconstruire. Cette semaine, notre orateur sera Jim Wilder, auteur d'un livre que nous avons étudié dans ce module, The Other Half of the Church.
Yesterday was a day off, which was good for all of us. On Saturday, we visited the property up to the river, walking along the wall built around it. In recent months, corrupt contractors have tried to seize the land, destroying several sections of the wall, cutting down trees, and starting to build houses and sell them... There have been clashes, shootings, burned bulldozers, and more than 45,000 fish stolen and sold from the fish farm... Recently, a judge ruled in favor of JEM, and the land was secured. But many sections of the wall still need to be rebuilt. This week, our speaker will be Jim Wilder, author of a book we studied in this module, The Other Half of the Church.

Noam a participé au Camp Passion à la Bessonaz pendant le week-end de l'Ascension. Il a beaucoup apprécié, a dû préparer un petit message sur un passage biblique qu'il va redonner ce soir à Interjeunes Lonay. Il grandit bien dans sa foi et va se faire baptiser dimanche prochain.
Noam participated in Camp Passion at La Bessonaz during Ascension weekend. He enjoyed it very much and had to prepare a short message on a Bible passage that he will deliver tonight at Interjeunes Lonay. He is growing well in his faith and will be baptized next Sunday.
Nous arrivons au terme de la première semaine de notre dernière session de master. Tout se passe bien. C'est la première fois que tous nos étudiants peuvent être présents en live. Nous aidons avec l'organisation, la traduction et tout l'aspect académique. Nos étudiants travaillent tous sur leur projet de thèse qu'ils doivent rendre à la fin du mois d'août.
We are coming to the end of the first week of our final master's session. Everything is going well. This is the first time that all of our students have been able to attend in person. We are assisting with the organization, translation, and all academic aspects. Our students are all working on their thesis projects, which they must submit at the end of August.
Tout se passe bien. Nous avons visité le campus en construction (ce sera le plus grand centre de JEM du monde, avec des dizaines de bâtiments, 20km de murs autour de la propriété, un grand hall de 2000 places...). L'histoire et la vision du centre sont enthousiasmants. David Hamilton nous enseigne sur le concept de meno (demeurer en Christ), et de l'importance de vivre et d'exercer notre ministère à partir de la présence de Dieu. Passionnant!
Everything is going well. We visited the campus under construction (it is the largest YWAM center in the world, with dozens of buildings, 20km of walls surrounding the property, a large hall with 2,000 seats...). The history of the vision for the center is inspiring. David Hamilton teaches us about the concept of meno (abiding in Christ) and the importance of living and ministering from the presence of God. Fascinating!
La session intensive a bien démarré. Il y a de la joie, de l'anticipation et de la profondeur. Cette première semaine, nous avons David Hamilton, un des responsables internationaux de JEM et un enseignant formidable, nous nous réjouissons beaucoup. Guy va le traduire. Il y aura aussi passablement de temps pour que les étudiants avancent dans la rédaction de leur thèse. Ce soir, nous regardons en avant-première un film de David Cunningham sur tout le travail de JEM parmi les militants du Nigéria, on se réjouit.
The intensive session has gotten off to a good start. There is joy, anticipation, and depth. This first week, we have David Hamilton, one of YWAM's international leaders and a wonderful teacher, and we are very excited. Guy will be translating for him. There will also be plenty of time for students to make progress on their theses. Tonight, we are looking forward to watching a preview of David Cunningham's film about all the work YWAM has done among activists in Nigeria.
